Software Solution for Police Force Drink/Drive Procedures
A unique software solution for Drink/Drive procedures in UK Police Forces.
The LIBIS application went into live operation in 1998 with the following objectives;
Eight forces, including Greater Manchester Police, West Midlands Police and the Police Service of Northern Ireland have completed over 750,000 procedures without a contested case caused by use of the software. All forces have reported benefits of using LIBIS and met the original objectives.
Software
Clear, well-presented screens effortlessly guide an operator through the many possible routes and complexities of the procedure by prompting questions to the subject and recording replies.
At the conclusion, LIBIS produces clear and concise evidential documentation for direct submission to the Prosecution Authority.
Installed alongside an evidential breath-testing device, the LIBIS equipment provides a secure and ergonomic operating environment for the operator and the subject.
Interface
LIBIS is able to interface to any Custody application supported by an ODBC compliant database. In addition, those forces using the Lion Intoxilyzer 6000 breath-testing device can interface to LIBIS.
Set-up
Set-up is very straightfoward and the software is fast to install and easy to train and use
The reccomended data flow of: Custody to LIBIS to Lion 6000 to LIBIS to Custody, avoids double-keying and eliminates error, offering great efficiency savings to the whole process of a drink/drive procedure.
